God has hidden His Word. Scripture says so plainly — and it also names who is given to find it. “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.” — Proverbs 25:2 This film examines why the churches, the Bible colleges and the seminaries have been unable to open the Scriptures, and sets out the method God Himself has authorized: comparing spiritual things with spiritual, Scripture interpreting Scripture, the whole Bible read as the parable it declares itself to be. The literal-grammatical-historical-cultural hermeneutic that governs evangelical education has no warrant anywhere in Scripture. It confines the Word to what the natural mind can reach, and it has left its adherents unable to see the judgment that began at the house of God and has since passed to the world. What that method forbids, the Word of God requires.
Perhaps you have carried a hunger for the Word of God that no church, no pastor, and no religion of the world could ever satisfy — a longing you could not name, for something deeper than anything set before you. That hunger is no accident. It may be the evidence of God’s drawing.
For the whole of the Church Age, the institutions entrusted with the Scriptures could offer only milk — the first principles of the faith — while the strong meat of the Word remained sealed and beyond their reach. They could not give what they had never received. But in this Day of Judgment, the deep things of Scripture continued to be revealed unto God’s elect: not by human scholarship, new theology, nor revival, but by the Spirit of God, through the patient comparing of Scripture with Scripture, whereby the Bible interprets itself and its parabolic, spiritual depths are being unveiled by God only through His Word: the Bible.
The Institute for Time & Judgment Studies exists to set that strong meat before those whom God has drawn — freely, outside the institutional churches, for all those who hunger and thirst for the deep things of God.
